SoCal SAAC hosts its 6th annual Car Show “All things Carroll Shelby Car Show” to benefit the “Wounded Warrior Freedom Station”. They provide our returning warriors with Quality-of-life items, support services and transitional housing designed just for them.
This is a one-of-a-kind show that highlights all the cars that Carroll Shelby drove and built.
Rancho Bernardo, CA The Southern California Shelby American Automobile Club, San Diego Region is a local Car Club 501(3) (7) status. The club is very active with multiple events happening 3-4 times a month and the car show is our way of giving back to the community. Our club motto “Ownership isn’t essential, Enthusiasm is!”.
One of our goals is to bring more families back to car shows like ours so we can help foster the bond between parents and kids to start a hobby working on classic cars for the fun and knowledge of yester year. Face it, electric cars are quickly taking over the landscape and working on those requires a Computer Science degree. There will be a Kids Zone at the car show to help spark some interest for mom & dad with the kids.
Carroll Shelby started his career by racing in the early ‘50s and won Le Mans in 1959. He had to retire from racing due to health issues, but this didn’t stop his racing involvement! His first design was the iconic Cobra that quickly dominated the racing world. Then he helped Ford win at Le Mans four years in row. Some of the other cars he developed were the Ford Mustang, Dodge Charger, Viper Daytona, Lancer, Oldsmobile Series 1, and the Sunbeam Tiger.
The Car Show is Saturday May 28, 2022 at the Marantha Chapel parking lot 10752 Coastwood Road, 4S/Rancho Bernardo ,92127. From 7:00 am to 2:00 pm for participants and 9:00 am to 2:00 pm for general public. Plenty of food and refreshments will be for sale to everyone.
